This past year has been extremely challenging on children and young people, with the effect of the pandemic and Lockdown resulting in necessary means being unavailable to them. The reduction of schooling, isolation from friends, and limited access to sports and social activities has meant a lack of structure, stability, loss of refuge, worrying about family members and general uncertainty about their immediate future have fuelled a mini pandemic of its own and mental well-being has deteriorated.
As a business and a team, Nylacast were determined to support Leicestershire Cares in making this a success story. Employees were asked to bring in Easter eggs, toys, colouring or activity book etc or donate towards the campaign.
Jas from our production department donated a substantial amount for the Bags of Hope campaign in loving memory of his mother-in-law and brother-in-law. He explained how he wanted “to have a positive impact and change the lives of local children who are less fortunate than us, especially during this difficult time”.
The impressive donations from Nylacast employees allowed for 114 bags to be successfully filled with an easter egg, a colouring book, an activity book, colouring pencils, mini eggs, and 4 toys each which were then delivered to Leicestershire Cares, as they distributed them across the country this week.
