Nylacast are pleased to have welcomed individuals on the “Employ Me” scheme run by local organisation, Leicestershire Cares.
The event consisted of Nylacast having the opportunity to spend time with the guests showing them around the Leicester based manufacturing facilities and worldwide headquarters.
The theme for the day was based on learning about some of the paramount factors of work; employability skills and time keeping. The young guests from different backgrounds gained useful insights into employment and went away with practical skills such as CV building and writing. In addition to this, they were also taught about the costs of lateness and absence to businesses. In 2010 alone, workplace absence in the UK cost the economy £17billion!
The importance of timekeeping and absence was emphasised through playing a giant board game which provided the young guests with a more practical and fun insight into the topics importance. Nylacast Group HR Manager, Ian Mallabone, who hosted the event and was pleased with its outcome and positive impact commented, “As a Leicester based company with a strong focus on supporting the local community and more importantly the local people of Leicestershire, Nylacast are honoured to have the great opportunity to welcome individuals on the “Employ Me” scheme. The work that Leicestershire Cares does is fantastic and to be part of a new local initiative which supports young people is very exciting and rewarding for everyone at Nylacast.”
