We are pleased to welcome Nick Farahani as the new business research and development manager here at Nylacast.
Starting his career working in petrochemical industries as a chemical engineer, he has gradually developed and improved his skills within the research and development sector by working in various industries. Nick’s profession in the construction and polymer sector has been an advantage as a Technical R&D manager for over a decade.
Nick’s skills and work experience include coordinating research and development activities on polymers using a wide variety of techniques and equipment, as well as implementing chemical processes into manufacturing from the laboratory to full-scale production.
He obtained a PhD in materials science from Manchester Metropolitan University where he had the added advantage of familiarising himself with recent advanced technologies in high-performance polymers. This has broadened his knowledge in polymer-based composite, a necessity for mechanical/physical improvement.
In his own words, his most recent achievement was, “the development of new market complex polymer-based binder which helped the company achieve an extra £8M margin by selling the product I developed in 2019”.
We are looking forward to Nick Farahani leading the business research and development here at Nylacast.
