Nine employees from engineering firm Nylacast recently volunteered their time to paint a local children’s nursery in need of refurbishment.
Members from all areas of the Nylacast team joint forces with employees from Leicester based All Truck to paint 4 large rooms on the second floor of Belgrave Playhouse located in Leicestershire.
The project was one of many organised by local charity Leicestershire Cares. The volunteers who arrived at the Nursery on the morning of Friday 5th September, armed and ready with paint, rollers and brushes donned fashionable overalls and old clothing before painting the four rooms, which are used daily for arts and crafts, learning and playing for a range of age groups.
Sonia Dehal, who handles material sales for Nylacast on a daily basis, co-ordinated the project for Nylacast and commented, “We are elated to have been able to work on this project, its excellent to see the physical change and positive results which a small group of people or company can make by volunteering a small amount their time and effort. We aren’t all keen, or skilled decorators, but with determination and teamwork anything is achievable. The Belgrave Playhouse really is a hidden gem in Leicester and we are thankful to have spent the day there.”
